Road trip in the south west of France
From Capbreton to Soulac-sur-Mer (Landes, Gironde)
Going up the Côte d'Argent by small roads scented with pine trees, preferably at the wheel of a van with a surfboard on the roof? This is the best way to cover this 250 km route, which starts with Capbreton, the only port on the Landes coast. Hossegor, Seignosse, Vieux-Boucau, the secret beaches of Vielle-Saint-Girons, Mimizan, Biscarrosse: the D652 sees a string of beaches and beautiful escapes towards the lakes. Then it's the Dune du Pilat and the Bassin d'Arcachon before heading, via Lacanau, to the lake of Hourtin-Carcans and the beach of Pin Sec, in Naujac-sur-Mer (surfing atmosphere guaranteed). We finish up to the elegant Soulac-sur-Mer.
Leave the coastline in time to reach the Etang Noir natural reserve or the Huchet current reserve.
