Megeve, an exceptional ski resort
Introduction
Nestled in the country of Mont Blanc, Megeve was born of a whim of the Rothschild family, who decided to build a French competitor to the Swiss resort of Saint-Moritz. It all began with the creation of a luxury hotel in the early 1920s, which soon welcomed the great names of French society of the time. With its palaces and luxurious boutiques, its success has never waned since. But the resort has kept its typical character, especially in the old Megève, where farms and chalets still tell the story of traditional architecture.
Megeve has 445 km of marked trails, ranging in altitude from 1,113 m to 2,350 m, and belongs to the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area.
