The Lamartine route allows you to soak up the atmosphere of the sites that inspired the poet and politician who so deeply marked the region. One of the must-see stops on this itinerary is the castle of Saint-Point. It is here, in one of the most beautiful valleys of the hinterland and in a landscape that has hardly changed since the 19th century, that Lamartine lived at the peak of his literary and political career. The poet is buried in the cemetery next to the village church.
