Cognac road
Introduction
A mandatory stop is the Martell Cognac House in Cognac. It is the oldest in the area, founded in 1715 by Jean Martell, a native of Jersey.
You will see the stills and oak barrels used for the elaboration and aging of this fine brandy, but also a multi-sensory space.
Afterwards, it's up to you to follow the labeled roads around Cognac. From Angoulême to Saintes and from Segonzac to Matha, it is the opportunity to visit cellars and distilleries, to meet producers of cognac and pineau des Charentes, a cooked wine, and to admire the Romanesque heritage of the Saintongeais.
